Such a tool

So I just thought I'd post a list of tools we could use since I want to mooch off as many people as possible. Here's the list, with existing doners listed parenthetically. We could use extras of most everything too. Some things I expect we'll have to rent or buy. As you can see, some things are very basic but people who have rented or lived in dorms thus far don't tend to own shovels.
  • Wheelbarrow (Craig)
  • Shovels (Craig)
  • ATV with trailer plow and winch would be awesome. Moving around rocks and sand, rigging with a pulley to lift something heavy, etc.
  • Rebar cutter/bender (shields rental)
  • Shop vac (Craig)
  • Saw horses (Craig, + we need more)
  • "Igloo" water container for the job site
  • 2800 watt generator (Craig)
  • Two air compressors: 2HP starting and 2HP running (Craig)
  • Gas powered air compressor
  • Framing nail gun x2 (Craig and his boss)
  • Finish nail gun (Craig)
  • Staple gun
  • Levels (Andrew et all)
  • Squares
  • Water level
  • Cordless drill (Andrew)
  • Corded drill (Craig)
  • Drywall drill (Craig)
  • Cordless circular saw (Andrew)
  • Worm-drive corded circular saw (Craig)
  • Compound miter saw (Craig)
  • Chop saw (Craig)
  • BYOTB (bring your own tool belt)
  • BYOH … hammers
  • Drywall finishing tools (I think we’ll pay someone to do this better than we can anyway)
  • Tile cutter (shields rental)
  • Random orbital sanders (Craig), regular palm sanders Craig), belt sander
  • Work light

One option, if you're really committed to being cheap, is to "buy" stuff from a hardware store, and then return it that evening. It's what Cam and John did with the ladder they used for...Midnight Sun, I think.

Oh Yeah! You guys are stylin! Dan wanted me to point out to you Marcy that you are holding what is called the dumb end of the tape.

Our fourwheeler with plow 20 years old was used to plow snow. I did plow mud on rainy days at our Soapstone road house while I was building it. Had to repair it, "weld", often when working with dirt or rocks. I have a homemade tilt trailer, uncovered. All my woodworking tools are electric or manual. I have a gas generator and a electric compressor with mechanical tools, impact wrenches, drill, cut off wheel, die grinder, etc.

Are you willing to let us use the four wheeler? Does it have a winch? A winch would be great in a few instances I can think of, like raising the 24' tall balloon framed gable end walls, although we can do it by hand easy enough.

The 4 wheeler would also be great to haul small amounts of sand and gravel and river rocks if we do a rock garden, and shove loose sand around if you don't think it would damage the plow. Like to fill utility trenches with a sand bed. Nothing heavy, we'll use the Cat for that.

So Dad and I broke down and got you something "new" for your birthday, so.....you'll want to get down to his house at some point to pick it up!! Hee. Love, Mom

Is it that new John Deer 450 dozer with the 6-way blade I've always wanted!?!? Hmmm, I don't think my RAV4 can tow 24,000 pounds.

Oh, we thought you could drive the Dozer back up to Fairbanks, slowly and carefully---won't need the truck to pull it!!!

Patrick was telling me he rented a boom lift when he built his house and drove it 20 miles home at about 8MPH.
